Ramon Deslauriers features a series of fantastical black and white digital collages that depict a fictitious religion through iconic portraits. Wanting to explore his metaphysical and spiritual beliefs, he took a hint from Byzantine icon artists who sought to depict the divine and invisible. But instead of egg tempera he used hundreds of photos found online, digitally chopped them up and gave them new and different life – well, except for the breathing part.
