If you haven’t heard of the Old Dog Haven…take a peek at their website. What this organization is doing is truly admirable. After losing Jasmine this summer, it just tears us up to think of an elder dog losing his/her home. We’re so thankful for such good people like this group out there helping these sweet, amazing dogs in need. We’d be truly appreciative if you could help spread the word of our holiday pet drive to get needed items to for these pets and their foster/forever refuge home peeps. I attached a graphic I put together if that is useful for posting in both jpg and pdf format. Thanks so much for posting!
Holiday pet drive!
Please join us in helping animals in need this holiday season. Having lost our senior Rottie this summer and with our other 11-year old dog at home, our awareness has turned to the growing number of senior dogs in need of a loving, caring home for their final refuge. In loving memory of Jasmine this holiday season, we would like to reach out to the good folks at the Old Dog Haven,http://www.olddoghaven.org/ , to collect items to help them care for their dogs in need. The Old Dog Haven is a network of private homes helping western Washington’s homeless senior dogs. Some of their dogs are with caring foster homes for their final refuge. They also have others available for adoption if you have room and the ability to give to an older dog in need of his/her final loving home.
They currently have plenty of blankets and toys for the dogs, but have provided an in depth wish list of critical items needed via this link to their website: http://www.olddoghaven.org/WishList.htm . It is important to keep the dogs on a consistent diet. Please review the list before purchasing food or supplement items for donation. Our holiday pet drive will kick-off this Friday with collection boxes in the hall outside our space. Bring in a donation item to either our Friday evening or Saturday afternoon (details below) wine tastings…and the tasting fee is on us as a thank you for your generosity! We will also be accepting kitty donations as well and will work with the good folks at Next to Nature who collaborate with two local organizations to make sure those items help cats in need this holiday season!
