I’m a Seattle New-Brow Artist. I’m inspired by urban culture, the immense wilderness of the Pacific Northwest and the contradiction between the two. Seattle is a perfect example of that contradiction. It’s a bustling urban city completely surrounded by the incredible wilderness. It has to be one of the few cities in the United States were you can see bald eagles on your morning bike ride to the coffee shop. It’s the balance of two completely contradictory forces that I seek to achieve in my work. Urban is my style of painting with use of aerosols, stencils, textile prints and a bold color palette combined to create beautiful images of animals and a spirit of nature. I use distress and decay and then balance it with aesthetic beauty and the individual narrative of the piece.
