"Abstracts & Insects" at Mind Unwind

July 12th WSAW, Summer Fest Eve 2012

“Abstracts In Insects”
Mind Unwind has decided to bring art and science together this July during West Seattle’s Art Walk on July 12th from 6-9pm! Collector, Don Ehlen with Insect Safari is displaying over 2,000 insect specimens from all over the world while onlookers can enjoy the insect art.
Artist, Walter Scheirer has rendered the natural abstracts in insects using mis-tinted latex house paint on salvaged hollow-core doors.  With a background in architectural salvage, Walter thought this would be a good way to repurpose things that might otherwise be slighted for the landfill.
Don Ehlen and Walter Scheirer will both be in attendance to discuss the actual specimens and nature’s artwork.
