Brent Amacher State Farm presents Barbara Trentalange!

Artist Statement:
Barbara Trentalange is a multimedia artist residing in Seattle, WA. She grew up outside Chicago and began performing classical music on piano and flute in various youth symphonies. In 1992, she moved to Seattle, where she became involved with the local music scene. She played with Seattle bands, “Spyglass” and “SushiRobo” and currently performs with “Head Like a Kite.” Barbara has written and recorded music for film and TV as well as session work for projects such as “Terri Tarrantula” and “Girl Singer.” In 2005, she toured as a member of Crooked Fingers where she had the opportunity to play with other notable musicians, Devotchka, Micah P. Hinson and Calexico.

Barbara has released three recordings under the name “Trentalange”: “Photo Album of Complex Relationships,” “Awakening, Level One,” and “B-Sides.”

Along with music, Barbara is an accomplished visual artist and graphic designer. She received her BA in graphic design from Drake University in Des Moines IA.

She combines her graphic design sensibilities and fine artistic styling to create unique works of art. Her work has been displayed in solo shows around Seattle and featured in the Capitol hill, Pioneer Square and Ballard art walks. She draws inspiration from local musicians as well as other iconic figures. In addition to painting well known figures, barbara has been hired for commissioned works.

Each year, Barbara makes a charitable contribution. Past contributions include a series of works for Seattle organization, Powerful Voices as well as the Alliance for Education.
