West Seattle Cellars February Artist: Andrew Drawbaugh
A thirty-year Seattle resident with Southern roots, Andrew Drawbaugh makes digital collages by combining his own photographs with discarded family snapshots. Through the thoughtful arrangement of these elements, he creates narrative with seemingly random images. It’s this storytelling urge that drives Drawbaugh to be a collector of images both new and old, to use digital technology and black and white photographs to raise questions about human behavior. He makes his home in the Ballard area and has been known to travel as far north as Bellingham and as far south as Atlanta, Georgia.
This month’s Art Walk, as we all know, falls on Valentine’s Day, and that night we’ll be pouring a selection of wines chosen especially for the occasion, with bubbles, Rosé, and some yummy reds. We’ll also provide some fun food bites to try with them. So, whatever your Valentine’s Day plans are, make some time to drop by between 5:30 and 9:00, meet our new artist, check out his work, and sample our wines. Perhaps you’ll find the perfect bottle to enhance your celebration.
