“It’s been an amazing experience to meet other artists and see how much the West Seattle community supports the local arts and businesses.” Sandrina Reyes, Artist/Graphic Designer, featured at Verity, Art Walk Partner
Last night’s Art Walk, Holiday edition, sparkled with festive energy! Art lovers, music lovers and happy-hour-special lovers strolled the streets, serenaded by the vocal stylings of the Silver Belles. 18 businesses hosted receptions for their artists and group shows in the Junction and throughout West Seattle, with something for everyone. 90s Grunge memories, essential oil hand massages, abstract painting open for interpretation, mixed media from the Wayward retreat, live art creation, and photography that evokes the beauty of our region. Santa greeted visitors who, if they were lucky, scored a red or green jingle bracelet generously provided by the West Seattle Junction Association.
As always on Art Walk night, we were reminded how important “Community” is to those who live here and those who share their creativity with us. The quotation above from a new Junction resident says it all! Thank you to the artists, merchants, and restaurants/bars/cafes for making this monthly event happen. To you, art-seeker, thanks for being part of this community.
Here’s a small photo recap of Art Walk night for the month of December by volunteer photographer, Tami L. Most of the artwork featured will be up all month long, so do find time to visit these venues, perhaps to finish your holiday shopping.
