Call for Artists | 2019 Q3 Marketing

The West Seattle Arts Council is seeking artists to submit their work for consideration for our upcoming digital and printed Art Walk promotional materials for the third quarter of 2019 (July, August, September). If selected, your artwork will be featured on our printed walking map postcards and posters that will be displayed around West Seattle. This is a great opportunity to have your work prominently featured and promoted in our community! Summer Bonus! The postcards and posters get tons of exposure during the West Seattle Summer Fest, July 12-14.

Deadline for submissions: June 10, 2019

Please submit your work via this link.

Tip: If you have submitted before (even for the first or second quarter of 2019) but you have new work, please feel free to submit again!

A note about the selection process: The Council meets every quarter to choose the next quarter’s artwork for printed collateral (posters and walking map postcards). Artists whose work will be shown at a participating Art Walk venue during the given quarter will be more heavily weighted in the selection process. Portrait-oriented images work best for the 11″x17″ posters. We are also looking for works that have a look or feel that is seasonal and family-friendly in nature. We reserve the right to choose the artwork at our discretion.

  1. I make a wide variety of whimsical glass pieces, from tiny ornamental sun-catchers to functional pieces for the home. Most of my ideas come to me in quiet moments while kayaking or even during my sleep – so I keep a notebook nearby. Creating custom orders helps foster a deeper connection with customers, which I am always seeking. I am grateful that customers trust me with their personal stories, cherished memories, and exciting celebrations. Knowing that a piece I made will be in someone’s life as part of their decor brings complete satisfaction as a designer and maker. Handmade means buying products that are made to last, directly from people who love what they do as makers and take pride in their products.
