Call for Artists | 2020 Q2 Marketing

The West Seattle Arts Council is seeking artists to submit work for consideration for our upcoming digital and printed Art Walk promotional materials, second quarter of 2020 (April, May, June). If selected, your artwork will be featured on our social media, printed walking map brochure and posters that will be displayed around West Seattle. This is a great opportunity to have your work prominently featured and promoted in our community!

Exciting Art News! The Art Walk is expanding. The Morgan Junction is joining the Art Walk in April, and the Admiral Junction joined in January, so all throughout West Seattle are new hubs of businesses and restaurants will be exhibiting art work or offering food and drink specials during Second Thursday Art Walk. Any art submitted in this Call for Artists will be shared with the new participating businesses, broadening artists’ reach and exposure! Stay tuned for more details about the Morgan Art Walk as we approach the new year.

A note about the selection process: The Council meets every quarter to choose the next quarter’s artwork for the marketing collateral and plan for upcoming months. Artists whose work will be shown at a participating Art Walk venue during the next quarter will be given more consideration in the selection process – so be sure to let us know if you are already committed to a business for showing. Portrait-oriented images work best for the 11″x17″ posters. We are also looking for works that have a look or feel that is seasonal and family-friendly in nature. We reserve the right to choose the artwork at our discretion.

  1. Hello fabulous art walk peeps, I know the deadline to submit images has just passed, and I’m wondering if you have a date when the image will be selected. I need to hold the piece I submitted and not sell it online in the meantime, so knowing the selection date would be helpful. Thanks!


    1. Hi Linda! We select our image for the new quarter’s marketing material on Friday, March 13. If this frees you up for sales, we have certainly had artists who sell their proposed submissions by the time we select them for the marketing. We just ask that there is similar work to show at the show and you have a good quality image of the work to submit for printing. Since we also encourage the featured artist to show all three months, that necessitates fresh material each month anyway. Hope this helps!
