Business Spotlight: West Seattle Realty

They say location is everything in the real estate business. West Seattle Realty (WSR) tested that theory and recently moved from a small side street into a new location on a vibrant block on California Avenue, between The Good Society Brewery and West Seattle Runner. Not only have they increased their street presence, but they have re-envisioned how to share their office space and how they connect with the neighborhood.

A West Seattle Art Walk partner since October 2022, West Seattle Realty has fully embraced the opportunity to open their doors to local artists on a regular basis. That started by commissioning a spectacular Desmond Hansen West Seattle themed mural for a large wall in their office – the same artist who paints all the traffic signal boxes around West Seattle, and beyond. They have also featured artists like LA Wiltbank who paints flowers on clothes (image below), sculptors, photographers like the current exhibit by Patrick Robinson (images below), and musicians like Caitlin Patterson who performed during Muse Fest at April’s Art Walk to a standing room only crowd.

“Creating community in a meaningful way and helping it thrive is core to who we are as a business,” said Kevin Broveleit, West Seattle Realty Managing Broker. “Being a part of the West Seattle Art Walk creates another reason for us to open our doors and connect with our neighbors – we love having our space filled with creativity and passion!”

Kevin and his colleagues understand that buying a house is the biggest investment most people will ever make and having a relationship with the people who help you do that is important. They love that the Art Walk is a good way to nurture those relationships.

“I’ve been so impressed with the local artist community – the past Art Walk artists have consistently come back to support present ones at our events,” said Kevin. “Harrison B performed at our Art Walk night a few months ago and is coming back to shoot a music video here – I love that people feel comfortable here and want to come back!”

Kevin encourages artists to utilize the WSR location for closing parties– once their display time is up (usually 1-3 months) – which would give them another opportunity for an in-person event to promote and sell some of their work.

West Seattle Realty is located at 2715 California Ave. SW in the Admiral District. Their five brokers are local experts and can be reached at 206-935-0503.

You can enjoy sculpture by Warren Pope, and music by the talented young band, Aurora Avenue, at WSR during the May West Seattle Art Walk on Thursday, May 11, 5- 8 p.m.

Artists can reach out to West Seattle Realty about showing their work by visiting the WSR website.
