West Seattle Art Walk

Every Second Thursday | 5-8pm

There was so much to enjoy at the July Art Walk in West Seattle! With California Ave closed for upcoming Summerfest, crowds gathered to enjoy music, art, and another beautiful glowing summer evening.

It was an exciting night in Admiral with businesses buzzing and our community out and about enjoying a full mile of art and music! At West Seattle Grounds, Art Walk’s very own Dan Jacobs lit up the space with stunning images of the West Coast while music by Michael Pearsall filled the air. At Zelda Zonk, artist GraceANN Cummings showcases bright colors and a variety of textures that draw the eyes of everyone who enters. Likewise, David Kimble’s work also brought colorful energy to a warm and bustling summer evening at Good Society Brewery and Public House.

The party continued down to West Seattle Realty where artist LA Wiltbank brought a whole squad of fellow artists to drape the space in an explosion of flowers and fun. The show spilled out and onto the street engaging the entire community in a night of art and revelry. Down the road, Warren Pope made use of the beautiful open space at My Necessitea to showcase his sculptures for a welcoming West Seattle audience once again.

Across the street, jean mann captivated audiences throughout the night as they strolled down California Ave outside Wend. Inside, Shelly Sazama’s textile works in rich blues brought a breezy and chill vibe to this July Art Walk. Finally, in their debut at Art Walk, Southpaw Barbershop with the help of artist Matthew Cory brought a refreshing showcase of new works. The lively energy at Southpaw was a welcome addition to such an entertaining night in Admiral.

Further down California at Alki Arts Pop Up Gallery we saw works by quarterly featured Artist Dianne Bianchi and artist Reeve Washburn, with musical artist Hopscotch with The Art of Music outside. The band Aurora Avenue (musicians and a vocalist) performed and entertained in front of KeyBank adjacent to the All Ways Walk Intersection. The DancePowered group performed in the All Ways Walk intersection to entertain the crowd.

At Jet City Labs, there was a live DJ spinning jams, along with booths showcasing hand-crafted wooden planters, ceramic pieces, and gemstone and pearl jewelry. One artist, Artsy Ears, even gifted our volunteer a handmade coffee-dyed journal – perfect for taking notes of the event! At Doll Parts Collective musician Mia Day performed a set and artists Stoopid Chic displayed their colorful bold prints and crocheted textiles.

Our team of volunteer Art Walk photographers did a wonderful job of capturing the ambiance of the evening as well as the art and artists. Thank you, Meagan, Carole, Michelle, John, and Helen. We couldn’t do this without you! If you weren’t able to come out, we hope you take a moment to check out photos of the receptions below or on social media. Or, better yet, come see the shows yourself. Most of the artwork featured will be up all month long, so do find time to visit these venues.
