Joseph Brooks is a Seattle Artist. He has lived and shown work in and around the Seattle area for the past 8 years. He is a member of TSIO in The Greenwood Collective and Twilight Art Gallery in West Seattle. Joseph has displayed work during West Seattle Artwalk, Rat City Art City in White Center, Phinneywood ArtUp, Georgetown’s Art Attack, Blitz Capitol Hill, Belltown Artwalk, and at various Coffee Shops, Music venues, and galleries in the Seattle metropolitan area.
He says of his work
I just love to create. I am a very hands on artist. I have a love for the materials I use. I love experimenting and finding new techniques. I have been showing my characters and non-representational work recently. I really enjoy working in two distinct different styles. With the character work, I try to mash up the characters and allow room for all the emotions we experience in life. I do want there to be a overall feeling of happiness and play to these pieces. I think that those feelings help us most as humans navigate through this life. There is already enough pain and heartache in the world I don’t need to create more with my artwork. If I can brighten one persons day by seeing my work and they can take that with them and pass it on I think I’ve done my job as an artist.
