“ALONG THE DUWAMISH”
Unlike the tourist zone of downtown at Elliott Bay, the Duwamish river is working waterfront with no pretense. Tugs, barges, crane, junk yards, bridges create a severe geometry in contrast to the natural shoreline of Kellogg Island. I employ mixed media to capture the grit and energy of this working waterfront that is often overlooked by most people in Seattle.
Artist Bio: Leo Smith is a West Seattle artist and architect.
Education: B.Arch: University of Oregon School of Architecture and Allied Arts, Eugene, OR.
