Artist Bio:

Originally from Michigan, I have lived in Seattle for the past 16 years. I have studied art at the University of Michigan, Kalamazoo College and from local Seattle Artists.

Mixed media has been my creative choice over the past decade. I use texture in combination with contradicting patterns to create a captivating visual tension. Using a layering technique with paints and papers allows me to create both depth and whimsy.

I have been influenced by Expressionism and Cubism. I am also drawn to the honesty in ethnic art and the intensity of German Expressionism. I love the colors in Mexican folk art and the complexity of pattern represented in the art of the Middle East and Asia.

On this month’s Art Walk night, our free weekly tasting features Croatian wines. Although Croatia has been producing wine for thousands of years, it is only recently that they have begun garnering international attention and recognition. Come and see what the excitement is about this Thursday, from 5:30 to 9:00, while you enjoy the artwork of Jeanne Keckler.

West Seattle Cellars is located at 6026 California Ave. SW
