Liana Haugaard, 5-9pm
Artist Statement
When I was 11 years old I decided I wanted to become an Interior Designer, in that same year I was gifted my first camera. Coincidence? I think not. Ever since then I have strived to make my goal of becoming an Interior Designer a reality. Along the way I began to pick up photography skills as well as a passion for holistic design and creating art that sparks that wonder we all have inside of us.
Both of my parents have always been involved in photography so its no wonder that I immediately grasped at it as a way to show what life looked like through my personal lens. Initially, I began taking photos as a way to capture my social life, this then lead to taking photographs of landscapes from my hiking adventures and finally to where it is now.
It only seems natural for me to blend my two passions, design and photography. Having an understanding of the interior design process allows me to create photographs that speak to the feeling the space emits as well as allows me to see and showcase the particular design choices that are working together to create that feeling.
In the past 6 months my photography has evolved to be a reflection of my personal looking glass, a small glimpse into how I see the world. As I have grown I have found fun in melding fantasy with reality, small worlds reflected in a single photograph. Photoshop has expanded the way I create and tell stories and I have a great affinity for creating dreamlike images that take a moment to label, letting you pause and then softly pulling you into The Now. I like to believe that they bring out the childlike wonder inside us all.

Rosefit
Adrien Miller, 5-8pm
Join us this Thursday for West Seattle Artwalk at Rosefit. Our artist this month is Adrien Miller & we will have music by Jordan Brashears.
Adrien Miller was born In Salana Beach California and raised in Seattle, Washington. He has been making art for as long as he can remember, and became passionate about painting as a graffiti writer in his youth. After getting into legal trouble for painting publicly as a teenager, he shifted his focus to painting on things that belonged to him. He received a merit scholarship to attend California College of Arts and Crafts, and after a semester, decided to travel to Europe to study the old masters independently. He filled sketchbooks and painted his way through Spain, Italy, and Switzerland, strongly inspired by the rich traditions of figurative sculpture there, and decided to go back to school to learn sculpture. In college, he was introduced to ceramics as an art medium, and in 2007 he graduated from CCA with an individualized BFA in sculpture, painting, and photography. Shortly after, he began teaching ceramics, and set up his studio at the co-op Florentia Clayworks. He has exhibited his work in galleries in California and Washington, including shows at ArtXchange Gallery, Love City Love, and Axis Gallery. He has been selling his work online full time for over 10 years to collectors all over the world. He has had the honor of sculpting many custom portraits including politicians, celebrities, memorial busts, and historical figures such as Booker T. Washington, Carl Jung, Godswill Akpabio, Juno, The Impractical Jokers, Einstein, and the women of Abba, to name a few. In 2018, Business Insider made a video feature of Adrien’s art that went viral, and brought in so many new clients that he was able to double his studio space, and left his teaching position of 10 years in order to focus all of his creative efforts into his own art. He currently balances his studio practice by spending half his making time working on custom sculpture projects, and half his time making personal work like you will see in this show.

Jordan Brashears : Ecstatic and IDM dance music facilitator DJ Jordy will provide a fluid, and diverse range of sounds and textures, at Rosefit. Re-mixing your movement in experimental and creative new ways. soundcloud.com/jordan-sean-brashears

Emily Juarez, 5-8pm
Resides in Washington
Surrounded by nature since birth, organic beauty filled my days and dreaming nights. I was both nurtured and inspired by the world around me and my imagination flourished.
I grew from Crayola doodles to cartoon drawings, then reached portraiture when I began attending art classes in my final year of High School. Through this curriculum, I branched into photography where I found new perspectives of small and lovely miracles of the land.
Seeing nature so gracefully bold, as well as subtle, that I was moved to dive into painting. Using acrylic and watercolor I build strong atmosphere along with ink creating gentle arrangement and somehow familiar feeling in a tender heart.
“Being tender and open is beautiful. As a woman, I feel continually shhh’ed. Too sensitive. Too mushy. Too wishy-washy. Blah blah. Don’t let someone steal your tenderness. Don’t allow the coldness and fear of others to tarnish your perfectly vulnerable beating heart. Nothing is more powerful than allowing yourself to truly be affected by things. Whether it’s a song, a stranger, a mountain, a rain drop, a tea kettle, an article, a sentence, a footstep, feel it all – look around you. All of this is for you. Take it and have gratitude. Give it and feel love.”

Artist Statement:
“Originally a Boston-based architect / artist, I have ventured my way to Seattle to explore what everyone calls the “west coast vibes” in a continuation to indulge in my obsessive passion – illustrating the intriguing puzzles of the mind. Trained with the rigor mindset of one profession yet adapted to the abstract of another has created this fixation of intertwining mechanics and organics as reflected in many of my subject matters; there is always the interest of engaging the rigidity of one element that is typically man-made with the looseness of another that is part of our nature to create a composition where characteristics of both are shared and equalized. With a playful heart in mind, hopefully each piece can compel the viewers to question why?”

Viscon Cellars
5910 CALIFORNIA AVE SW
Dot Cherch, 5-9pm
No tasting fee for Art Walk participants!
Artist Statement: I’m a Seattle-area illustrator who focuses on the details of ordinary objects that might otherwise be overlooked. Most of my pieces tell a story, whether from my own life, or from someone else’s; and those stories encourage viewers to make an emotional connection to each piece. My most recent collection does this through stories of food and the key role that food has in life’s every day and significant moments.
I paint with gouache, and love experimenting on all different types of canvases. For my most recent collection, I especially enjoyed rendering on reclaimed Pacific Northwest wood. A wood canvas, with its grains and impurities, cannot help but become part of the art.
I have a degree in performance and scenic design, and a B.A. (Hons.) in Illustration. I live on Vashon, where my work is included regularly in gallery shows. You can reach me at dot@dotcherch.com.
Learn more about Dot’s work at her Instagram page and her website. Dot will be at Viscon Cellars in January, February and March 2020.

INNER ALCHEMY, TREASURES AND TRANSFORMATION
7354 35TH AVE SW
Moreah Love, 6-9pm
Love Mandalas
Join us as we host artist Moreah Love and her energy-infused mandalas!
While mandalas have been in use for centuries, they’ve taken on many different forms and meanings, including the popular love mandala. It is fitting that a tool originally meant for contemplating and meditating on the divine would also be an excellent representation of the power of love. The eve of Valentine’s day is is a great evening to attend and be infused by these beautiful mandalas.
Moreah Love I have been a creative artist since very young. Both my parents and grandparents were quite artistic. I am thankful to have inherited their natural artistic abilities. Although I used many different mediums of creative expression like soap stone and some wood carving, photography, knitting, crocheting, needlepoint, and more, I always used it to help soothe my emotional self. As time passed, I was searching for what I really wanted to do … create beautiful and spiritual healing art work. I searched for years, but was not satisfied with the outcome. Then in January of 2016, I was directed by a Vedic Astrology reading saying that I was going to create outstanding healing mandalas. That was kind of a shock to me because I really didn’t know what to do to create them. I found a mandala class in Atlanta, Georgia that used a healing system called “The Great Round”. I wasn’t sure if I believed there was deep emotional healing in creating mandalas, but I sure experienced a profound emotional release and awareness of how to use this special art at this school. This was so inpactful for me since I had not experienced this level of healing with my other forms of art. From then on, I started to play around with creating the templates on the computer, printing them out, coloring them, and embellishing them with all kinds of materials. In this process, I had amazing experiences communicating with the Archangels. With their energy channeling through me, they guided me to color each mandala and also make them shine with life force.
Each and every mandala I create has the healing frequencies of the Archangels. I custom make each mandala for the customer. I can make mandalas for humans, pets and deceased loved ones, and to Feng shui your home or office. These mandalas radiate divine blessed energy to profoundly impact the quality of your life!
