The West Seattle Arts Council is seeking artists to submit work for consideration for our upcoming digital and printed Art Walk promotional materials, fourth quarter of 2020 (October, November, December).
Please note: We cannot predict the scale of the Art Walk – outdoor, indoor, window shop, virtual – during the Autumn months. It will all depend on State guidelines.
If selected, your artwork will be featured in our social media and on printed posters that will be displayed around West Seattle in participating businesses. If we are still online at that point, your artwork will also get prominent placement in our YouTube Art Walk gallery. The West Seattle Art Walk is reserving judgement about whether to print walking maps until we know more about State guidelines and business participation. No matter what, this is a great opportunity to have your work featured and promoted in our community!
Deadline for submissions: September 1, 2020
Tip: If you have submitted before (even earlier in 2020), but you have new work, please feel free to submit again! All submissions go into our Artist Library which is shared with participating businesses hosting artists.
Exciting Art News! The Art Walk has expanded. The Morgan Junction joined the Art Walk in April, and the Admiral Junction joined in January, so all throughout West Seattle are new hubs of businesses and restaurants will be exhibiting art work or offering food and drink specials during Second Thursday Art Walk once things are full back up and running. Any art submitted in this Call for Artists will be shared with the new participating businesses, broadening artists‘ reach and exposure! Stay tuned for more details.
A note about the selection process: The Council meets in-person or virtually every quarter to choose the next quarter’s artwork for the marketing collateral and plan for upcoming months. Artists whose work will be shown at a participating Art Walk venue during the next quarter will be given more consideration in the selection process – so be sure to let us know if you are already committed to a business for showing. Portrait-oriented images work best for the 11″x17″ posters. We are also looking for works that have a look or feel that is seasonal and family-friendly in nature. We reserve the right to choose the artwork at our discretion.
