The June Art Walk featured our signature Seattle rain, with the added bonus of an atmospheric river over the region for some added wetness! Spirits were not to be dampened, however, and artists and art lovers were out and about to enjoy the evening. The rain certainly couldn’t dampen Sue Quigley, Art of Music performer stationed at the KeyBank Plaza under a shelter tent! Her soulful vocals cut through the showers.
June also kicked off with a celebration of PRIDE, with Compass featuring an incredible Pride buffet! The art walk also featured a first solo show at ArtsWest and Flying Apron as well as a biannual group show at Windermere. Additionally, this month we had the chance to view a premiere showing of the custom-painted mural at Lily’s Salvadorean Restaurant… And, according to our photographer Carole, the food was delicious! Of course, the buzz of the evening was the news of the West Seattle Bridge planned opening in September…just 3 more months!
The team of Art Walk photographers did a wonderful job of capturing the ambiance as well as the art and artists. If you weren’t able to come out, we hope you take a moment to check out video clips and photos of the receptions below. Or, better yet, come see the shows yourself. Most of the artwork featured will be up all month long, so do find time to visit these venues.
We want to thank all our generous partners for the support they bring to the West Seattle Art Walk – The Grove West Seattle Inn, Northwest Art and Frame, The Good Society Brewery, Verity Credit Union, Canna West Seattle, Quail Park, Fogue Gallery, COMPASS Real Estate, our media partner West Seattle Blog and our printing partner Sky Printing.
Here’s a small photo recap of Art Walk night for the month of May by volunteer photographers Carole, Sofia, Jill, Reeve, and Kate. We couldn’t do this without you!
