Change was in the air at the September Art Walk, and West Seattle was alive with the feeling of new beginnings. Vibrant colors and energy were reflected across West Seattle as the sun set a little earlier, casting a golden hue through the streets. Onlookers enjoyed wine tasting and charcuterie at Viscon Cellars and West Seattle Wine Cellars, among others, and the streets were lively with music and laughter.
The new Alki Arts Pop-Up showcased local artists in a new and unique use of the first floor of the Senior Center of West Seattle. Muralists decorated walls with new pieces inside and out, with proceeds of sales going to support the Senior Center. Artist Xin Xin brought her art outdoors at Canna West. Artists and friends supported one another with hugs and handshakes all across West Seattle.
Art of Music hosted Trevor Ras at KeyBank Plaza and Taylor John Hardin at WEND Jewelry Both captured the feeling of the start of fall with their soaring vocals and acoustic guitar rhythms inspiring warmth and gratitude for the coming season.
The team of Art Walk photographers did a wonderful job of capturing the ambiance as well as the art and artists. If you weren’t able to come out, we hope you take a moment to check out video clips and photos of the receptions below. Or, better yet, come see the shows yourself. Most of the artwork featured will be up all month long, so do find time to visit these venues.
