As we bid farewell to the year 2022, we take time to celebrate what makes our community special. An evening, once a month, where businesses and artists come together to share and support. Where musicians stir our soul and make us smile. Where the magic of the season means bright eyes, warm embraces, and the gifts of our heart. The Art Walk team thanks you ALL for making this year mean so much for West Seattle. 

Last night’s best description was “Festive!” The holiday season was in full swing, with Santa in the Alaska Junction, turning heads and passing out candy canes. The Silver Belles a cappella stylings were delightful and the lyrics were a hoot. More music was featured, thanks to Art of Music: Brazilian guitarist Marco de Carvalho at Zeeks Pizza; Katrina Kope performing at Great American Diner & Bar; performer Susan Burke, Celtic fiddler at The Nook. 

Art Walk is a fun chance to experience locales you may not be familiar with. One visitor said the space at My Necessitea in Admiral is amazing. And The Nook in Morgan was “boppin’” with Art of Music. One spot is brand-new: Aileron, the new space of the Jet City Labs team, held a pop-up sneak preview of the space right on California between Alaska and Oregon. ArtsWest hosted an Artist presentation as part of their evening in the gallery anteroom for their theatre.

Lastly, for farewell, we wish the best to Virago, packed for its last Art Walk, before they close up the brick & mortar shop on December 23.

Our team of volunteer Art Walk photographers did a wonderful job of capturing the ambiance of the evening as well as the art and artists. Thank you, Carole, Meagan, John, Jill and Jacquie.
