West Seattle Art Walk welcomed the new year with a renewed dedication to the arts. Vibrant art and showings contrasted the cold, rainy evening and we were happy to see so much warmth and joy at our local venues. The wet streets reflected the lighted trees along California Ave, a beautiful backdrop for an evening of art. We were thankful for such a great turnout despite the winter rain!
Flying Apron was having a real party, with music and a live painting demo with artist Kevin Ducoing. Domenica Parisi at Verity had a steady turnout with her Soul Drawings: one-of-a-kind illustrations of an individual which she crafts from listening to the vibrations of their name. Lots of students came out for the exhibit by the West Seattle High School art department. Doll Parts hosted Shirene Soleiman’s digital/canvas translations from their new location. There was a lot of variety this month, with so many new emerging artists to see.
Our team of volunteer Art Walk photographers did a wonderful job of capturing the ambiance of the evening as well as the art and artists. Thank you, Carole, Meagan, Jill, Michelle, and Sofia. We couldn’t do this without you! If you weren’t able to come out, we hope you take a moment to check out photos of the receptions below or on social media. Or, better yet, come see the shows yourself. Most of the artwork featured will be up all month long, so do find time to visit these venues.
We want to thank all our generous partners for the support they bring to the West Seattle Art Walk –Northwest Art and Frame, The Good Society Brewery, Verity Credit Union, Canna West Seattle, Quail Park, COMPASS Real Estate, our media partner West Seattle Blog and our printing partner Sky Printing.

This is such a wonderful way to celebrate our West Seattle. I can never attend due to a Thursday commitment.
