Robert Kinsey INDOORS SHOW & RECEPTION 5pm-8pm

“As a collage artist working with mixed media, my creative process is deeply rooted in the exploration of past experiences and the intricate layers that shape our lives. I am fascinated by the complexity and richness of personal narratives, and I seek to visually translate these stories through the assemblage of diverse materials and textures.
Through carefully selected found materials, such as vintage photographs, antique papers, and symbolic objects, I explore the bittersweet nature of love and mortality. The act of collaging allows me to deconstruct and reconstruct these elements, forming new compositions that evoke a sense of both melancholy and hope”

Deb McCarroll Permanent Show INDOOR SHOW Business Hours

Deb McCarrollโ€™s bold work embodies the Northwestโ€™s regional culture. Patterns are created with Seattleโ€™s ubiquitous falling rain. Paper is integrated into wet paint and then set on fire. Metal leaf is frequently woven into scenes and selectively oxidized with acid to add patinas in glittering greens and browns. Local flora and fauna are painted in startling realism and then pared with raw abstract practices.

Magdalena Cooney INDOORS SHOW & RECEPTION 5pm-8pm

Magdalena Cooney is a Czech born Seattle Contemporary artist who credits her parents and their artist friends as her first and most important teachers and the beautiful nature of Pacific Northwest as her constant inspiration . Her father, a theater set designer and puppet maker, and her mother, a graphic designer, influenced Cooneyโ€™s ability to create art since a very young age.  The theatre was always her โ€œhappy place,โ€ and she believes it is the reason her paintings lean towards the evocative, non-objective rather than specific. She loves working in series where she has the ability to try different techniques and color palette going from a textured one full of bright colors to a smooth one in neutral colors. But one thing remains constant in all of Cooney’s work and that is her subject matter which is nature in an abstract form. In some of her pieces her mountains and sea are more realistic than others, but they can be seen in even the most abstract pieces of her work. Not interested in shock value, Cooney says her paintings feel like home, a place in your heart that is precious and where you feel most like yourself. She lives in West Seattle with her husband and two children and is represented by Gray Sky Gallery in downtown Seattle.

Friend of Achilles

I am Scott Coffey, a painter, printmaker, graphic designer, and collage artist from Seattle, Washington. My lifelong interest in books, comics, and mythology has translated itself into an art practice of narrative work centered around stories, beliefs, and the intersection between the two. My work is imbued with color, as I am fascinated with the visual power and strong emotions that pigments provide. Due to my graphic design background, much of my fine art work also involves words, either in descriptive narratives alongside a piece, or in writing directly on a panel. The combination of words and images has a unique power neither element can provide on its own, and I value and attempt to channel that combination to tell stories that are personal, political, and queer.
