David Egelhoff INDOORS SHOW & RECEPTION 5pm-8pm
David Egelhoff is a Seattle-based artist whose work is inspired by existential moments, nature, and randomness. He explores color and composition through tally mark lines, creating a modern twist on abstract expressionism. Initially, the lines were a way to use leftover paint, but they soon became the focus of his art, representing moments in the artist’s life. David’s artistic process is driven by a need to create, gradually revealing the artwork’s essence. He employs the cut-up method, using paints and digital collage. Influenced by artists like Jackson Pollock and Willem de Kooning, he primarily works with acrylic and oil paints, occasionally including watercolor. David’s visual language centers on blues, reds, whites, and yellows, using varying lines to captivate the audience. Viewers can engage with the art by questioning the absence of shapes and discovering suggested figures, prompting reflections on the ever-changing nature of his creations.

Presenting Lorrie Brogan, Brad Burzinsky, Shelly Tiemeyer, Julia Viglione and Jacoby Hinton
Guest house & gallery with original works from local artists Lorrie Brogan, Brad Burzinsky, Shelly Tiemeyer, Julia Viglione & Jacoby Hinton. Detached 1 bedroom/bath/sleeps 4 with lovely design, decor & amenities. Great for vacation rental, small retreats, events & workshops. Gorgeous multi-media art, blown glass pieces and hand-made quilts bring light and splash to any space. Some of these local artists will be on-site and are looking forward to meeting you! Come for a visit and a complimentary snack and beverage.
1) Lorrie Brogan: Lorrie lives and creates her art in beautiful West Seattle, Washington. When she is not painting in her home studio or attending an art event, she is likely traveling with her husband. They enjoy sailing to the San Juan Islands and Canadian Gulf Islands, as well as RV road trips to San Diego and Arizona. Lorrie is an abstract painter that enjoys experimenting with color, textures, and mark making. She is always on the lookout for organic textures found in nature and unconventional items she can use as painting tools. Lorrie’s current work is intuitive abstract paintings that start with random marks and shapes. She has no preconceived ideas about what she is going to paint. She adds and removes marks and shapes to build up interesting layers and relationships. The process is then repeated multiple times to give the painting some history. Lorrie likes the challenge of creative problem-solving. Most intuitive paintings go through a difficult phase and it is within these phases that creative magic happens for her. Figuring out how to resolve a painting so it feels honest and authentic and ultimately completed is a richly satisfying part of her process.
Learn more about Lorrie’s work on her Facebook.
2) Brad Burzinski: Brad Burzynski has been blowing glass since 1999, his work being displayed throughout Washington State and in Italy. He supports many local charities including, but not limited to, Pilchuck Glass School, Schmitz Park Elementary, Madison Middle School, and West Seattle High School. Burzynski also hosts an Annual Glass Pumpkin Sale to benefit local education in Washington. Recently his underground business of blown glass, called Bella Soffietta Studios, has peaked both local and international interest.
Learn more about Brad’s work on his Instagram and Website.
3) Shelly Tiemeyer: I am a local therapist and artist. Twenty two years ago, I moved from Kansas to the Pacific Northwest to pursue my counseling degree. In 2013 when my youngest son went to school, I started painting. I grew up watching Bob Ross and his puffy clouds. With him there were no mistakes. He convinced me that anyone could be a painter, even me. I love where there is a space for creation to unfold. My paintings are acrylic and mixed media and can be found on instagram @shellytiemeyerart or shellytiemeyercounseling.com.
Learn more about Shelly’s work on her Instagram and Website.
4) Julia Viglione: A West Seattle native, I spent many years far away as a professor of French before coming home in 2018 and founding this business. Honey Girl Books and Gifts operates out of a home studio in the Admiral district. (It was inspired by Honey Girl [2009-2023], a soulful shepherd mix, to share good feelings.) My biz offers three lines: 1) artsy quilts, including Seattle, Black and White, and Alice in Wonderland designs; 2) original children’s books; and 3) toys for humans and dogs, made of repurposed materials and Luxury Troll boudoirs.
Learn more about Julia’s work on her Instagram and Website.
5) Jacoby Hinton: I stopped referring to myself as an artist a long time ago. I much prefer the term creator, as I feel it’s more accurate. I create things; sometimes beautiful, sometimes weird, and hopefully a little bit of both sometimes. My work is multi-disciplinary; ranging from sketch drawing and painting, to woodworking and sculpture. I wish I could pinpoint for you exactly what drives me to create, sometimes it’s a sense of helplessness in the world, sometimes it’s a sense of belonging, and sometimes it’s because dragons are cool, and the next best thing to riding one is drawing it. All I am really certain of in this world is that my hands, eyes, and mind were meant to be creating things to look at, and I would continue doing it even if I was the only one looking.

Kevin Ducoing INDOORS SHOW & RECEPTION 5:30pm-6:30pm
They Came in Peace
‘They Came in Peace’ can be spoken as plain fact, a question, or as a wry commentary of our interaction with the land on which we live. Imagining our most obvious legacy: our homes, our neighborhoods, our towns…experienced from the forest’s point of view. Are we just part of the background noise? Are we seen as an invasion or threat? In this collection, our presence is imagined as fleeting shapes in a dream, a ghost story, or a science fiction movie.

Kathleen Van der Spek INDOORS SHOW & RECEPTION 5pm-8pm.
Kspek by Kathleen van der Spek is a collection of one of a kind handmade items. The designs are created out of repurposed and eco-conscious natural fabrics. The Kspek collection is a culmination of my love of sewing, fashion design and our planet. I began sewing at my Mother’s and Grandmother’s knee. Piecing together scraps to make something was second nature to me. As a teenager, making my own clothing was a way to obtain a new outfit. My family was big into “hand me downs”, “less is more” and “quality over quantity”. All of which I appreciate so much more today. My love of fashion led me to study clothing design at Ball State University. I went on to work in the fashion industry in New York, Seattle and San Francisco. After 25 years of working in the industry I have seen first hand the waste associated with corporate fashion and mass production. With fast fashion consumerism gaining more market share year after year, the negative environmental impacts are increasing exponentially. The Kspek collection is created from beautiful materials that have been around, sometimes forgotten and often traded in for something new. These materials still have life and beauty left in them and can be made new again.

Friend of Achilles
I am Scott Coffey, a painter, printmaker, graphic designer, and collage artist from Seattle, Washington. My lifelong interest in books, comics, and mythology has translated itself into an art practice of narrative work centered around stories, beliefs, and the intersection between the two. My work is imbued with color, as I am fascinated with the visual power and strong emotions that pigments provide. Due to my graphic design background, much of my fine art work also involves words, either in descriptive narratives alongside a piece, or in writing directly on a panel. The combination of words and images has a unique power neither element can provide on its own, and I value and attempt to channel that combination to tell stories that are personal, political, and queer.

Brooke Borcherding INDOOR SHOW & RECEPTION 5pm-8pm
My recent work in acrylic is a contemporary take on traditional landscape painting and is either executed on site or in the studio. I analyze and respond to what I’m looking at with broken color mark making to maintain a lively sense of energy and vivid color. These “deconstructions” aim to shed light on the beauty of ordered chaos in everyday scenes.
Bio: Brooke is a full time award winning artist working out of Wallingford in Seattle WA. She began painting in high school 18 years ago in Southern California and earned a BFA in painting from the University of Oregon in 2010. She considers herself a self-taught landscape painter, gaining knowledge from plein air peers when she took her easel outdoor for the first time in 2009 and producing a prolific output ever since. Her unique style evolved from a desire to investigate human perception in aesthetics, and to stimulate our human senses by exaggerating the color and space we see around us. Over the past decade as an exhibiting artist Brooke has become nationally and internationally collected, hangs in numerous galleries in the PNW and most recently been featured in Sep 2022 issue of Plein Air Magazine for urban plein air painting. In 2019 she was featured in American Art Collector Magazine and in 2016 Southwest Art Magazine was selected as one of the “21 artists under 31” artists to watch. She was awarded a prestigious prize for best oil/acrylic painting at the 2018 Carmel Plein Air Competition in California and continues to be recognized for her unique work in a traditional field, earning 3rd place on Whidbey island’s 2023 plein air paintout, 2 honorable mentions at the Edmonds plein air paintouts 2022/23. If you live in the Seattle area you may also find her work in various businesses or neighborhood art walks.

Seattle-based painter inspired by his daily interactions throughout the city. He has always had a passion for art and music. It wasn’t until 2015, after deciding to leave a career in music, that he started focusing more on painting. He chooses not to identify with one style over another but instead pursues that personal connection between you and his pieces. Naomi Cooper INDOORS SHOW & RECEPTION 5pm-8pm.
Join us at Canna West Seattle for the West Seattle Art Walk featuring Naomi Cooper. 21+ ID required.
Naomi Jean Cooper creates art that evokes a dimension where space and time fold together in ways that are not easily understood. Naomi’s creative process is a somatic spiritual practice driven by curiosity and desire. “When I tune into and trust the present sensations in my body, I enter a flow state that deepens my connection to the infinite, creative, compassionate energy that is both within me and beyond me.”
Her art is an invitation to be here now. It is an exploration of the natural cycles that are found in our bodies and throughout the cosmos: order and chaos, life and death, expansion and contraction. She sometimes uses elements of sacred geometry and ancient symbols to explore these themes. At times her work has direct references to traditional Celtic art, which aligns with her ancestry. Naomi works in a variety of mediums including graphite, ink, acrylic paint, and digital methods. Each one provides unique expressions of her recurring themes. Naomi enjoys creating in a variety of locations, and allowing the energy of the place to influence her work. She find this helps her stay curious and playful. She creates in her studio, in nature, in bookstores, during live music at local venues, and wherever else she may find herself with a little free time, a pencil, and a piece of paper. Naomi is a Seattle-based artist who was born in Chicago, IL and split her childhood time between the Midwest and Washington State. She has a BA in Visual Communications from Judson University in Elign, IL (greater Chicago area).

Since returning from that trip in 2015, she has created more than 700 works of art and attracted followers and collectors worldwide. Her fantastical creatures and compelling figures have been described as visual poems that marry whimsy and imagination.
