October 10 – Sue Quigley @ West Seattle Realty in the Admiral District.
Raised in the nuclear plains of Eastern Washington, Sue stole her sister’s guitar (abandoned for boys) at 13 and started writing songs about getting out of town and living another life. After graduating from college, fighting forest fires all over the west, and getting some heartbreak in, she settled in Seattle and started doing some open mics. It was finally after seeing mutual friend Brandi Carlile play that she got the guts up to put a band together and make an EP. Then a full-length CD “Perfect Chaos”. The single “Paper Tiger” from that CD was Runner Up for Song of the Year (Songoftheyear.com). She was one of the Top 15 finalists in Carla DeSantis’ (Rockergrl) “Discoveries” Contest and has played the Viper Room in Hollywood, showcased twice at SXSW in Austin, TX, and solo-toured the West Coast and Ireland. December 12 – Willow Scrivner @ Beveridge Place Pubin the Morgan Junction.
Click here for Willow Scrivner’s flier. Click here to listen to some of Willow’s music.
Willow Scrivner is a Seattle-based artist whose music lingers in a stark, blackly outlined winter landscape with shadowy, whispering instrumentation and fluid melody. Scrivner’s records hover somewhere around folk, but with gothic tinges and bell-like guitars chiming throughout. Her voice, reminiscent of The Sundays’ Harriet Wheeler and Emmylou Harris, is as warm, lilting, and alluring as they come…heartfelt and haunting, shot throughout with a deep, glimmering liquidity. Willow most often performs with guitarist Kevin Wood in the duo, Willow & Wood. Willow and Wood’s music is transcendent: both a study of the geography of place, and the constant search for home. Each of the 11 tracks on the duo’s new album Tornadoes in My Head aches with hope and a broken heart. Those contradictions are at the core of what makes this duo so special. Falling somewhere between indie pop and country, they have created a sound rooted in a West Coast reverb-drenched loneliness, dripping with southern humidity and darkness – and determined to find the magic.

December 12 – Alyvia Miller @ CAPERS in the Alaska Junction.
Alyvia has played harp for 16 years at weddings, restaurants, elderly homes, charities, and special events. She has traveled to 30+ countries and enjoys exploring diverse musical cultures.
