A colorful sunset set the stage as the backdrop to the stunning art on display at the March 13 West Seattle Art Walk. This month’s art walk featured live paintings, handmade guitars, incredible works of art, food, and wine galore. With spring just around the corner, we finally got a peek of longer days and evenings filled with art and the joy of our community.
In Alaska Junction, Jet City Labs was hosting a grouping of artists that all showcased the many ways they grew up. The artist’s cousin was there talking about his show- and pointed out the many ways in which Southern California influenced his paintings.
Windermere hosted the artist Siege, who was having a live painting done during the show.
John L Scott was hosting both a the most beautiful baskets we’ve ever seen, and artwork from Tilden School. Many Tilden parents had never been to Art Walk, and were enjoying their first Art Walk experience!
Asher Deaver’s guitars were a big hit at Compass where guests checked out the gorgeous, handmade instruments and perused portfolios of Deaver’s furniture.
Capers was bustling and hosting a lively group show, featuring Rebecca Woodhouse, Jan Koutsky, and Kelly Bailey, (and not pictured: Melissa Misoda, and Lea Basil-Lazarus). As always, the art was perfectly curated for the Capers space.
The stunning work of Brooke Borcherding at Verity had a steady stream of visitors all evening. Brooke’s vivid forests, cityscapes, sailboats, and even a painting of California Avenue drew many admiring viewers.
Walter Wine Shop was brimming with joy, smiles and laughter to complement the wafting of signature dishes and the gusto of the vineyard.
In Morgan Junction, artist Andrew Rinke displayed his ethereal spray paint and wood veneer landscape prints at West Seattle Salon. At Nor Designs our own volunteer Jon Couch displayed his incredible digital landscapes.
At The Kenney, a newcomer to Art Walk, artist Sueellen Ross displayed her repertoire of prints created in her own unique and intricate process involving etching, India ink and colored pencil. She sold at least 10 pieces to a collector during the show.
Junction 47 was hopping on this crisp blue skied evening. The DJ Brad did a stellar job mixing it up in concert with the Impressionist Art of Shirley Sing.
Up North in Admiral neighborhood, Andrea Stacy displayed her amazing paper art.
All in all it was another wonderful evening, and we are more than excited for the next Art Walk, held on the 2nd Thursday in April!

Our team of volunteer Art Walk photographers did a wonderful job of capturing the ambiance of the evening as well as the art and artists. Thank you, Cat, Carole, Molly, and Stacie. We couldn’t do this without you! If you weren’t able to come out, we hope you take a moment to check out photos of the receptions below or on social media. Or, better yet, come see the shows yourself. Most of the artwork featured will be up all month long, so do find time to visit these venues.
