SHERRI JEROME @ SOPRANO’S ANTICO PIZZA & PASTA RESTAURANT
2348 CALIFORNIA AVE SW
Genre: Roots Rock
To view a video of Sherri Jerome performing click here.
Sherri Jerome’s interest in being a musician first began when she discovered a guitar in her friend’s basement that belonged to his older brother. Inspired and obsessed, she began to incessantly harass her parents for a white electric guitar. To her dismay a small child’s acoustic showed up on Christmas. Despite her disappointment, Sherri demanded guitar lessons. An early fixation with the likes of Elvis and the Beatles fueled her desire and she was determined to become a rock star. Born and raised in New Jersey, Sherri started writing songs at unknown early age and performed them for her babysitters. It wasn’t until her late teens that she began a serious attempt at songwriting. Countless hours spent alone in her room yielded songs which lead to her experience playing in her first band, The Animators. In her twenties Sherri teamed up with a variety of other musicians and played the NYC circuit. Shortly thereafter she headed to Seattle. Sherri joined forces with guitarist Michael Beckworth, whom she met while networking at a popular Seattle open mic night. The partnership has proven to be one that works well. Michael’s definitive, gritty guitar sounds and tasteful phrasings bring a distinctive essence to Sherri’s songs. Sherri’s first original project in Seattle was the roots rock band Strange Jerome which she formed with Michael Beckworth. Her current original project is Del Vox. Sherri also fronts Seattle Pretenders Tribute Jealous Dogs.
