June 12 Art Walk in Pictures

There was so much to see and hear at West Seattle Art Walk this Thursday, June 12. It was a visual and sonic treat as always. Plenty of friendly faces were out on the town, and it was a good reminder that West Seattleites are an incredibly welcoming and friendly group, and notably more so when the sun is out!

In Alaska Junction, John L Scott was buzzing with excitement to welcome their wonderful ceramic and multimedia talent and music guests. Verity artist Tatyana Brown captured our imagination with her vibrant and enchanting energy, which translates into her complex and wondrous work. Capers was filled with community chatter and those enjoying Lisa’s 40th anniversary sale. Compass artist Bev Hill had a jam-packed crowd seeking her eye to purchase pieces.

Discovery shop artist Dinah was whimsical and diverse in her genres and textures. Loved the sparkle collar!  Soprano’s Antico Pizza & Pasta Restaurant patrons enjoyed the music of My Real Job featuring Susan Denini and Jack Bradbury. With their front window open, not only the diners inside at Due’ Cucina but also passers by got to enjoy entertainment by Michael J. Good.

At Emerald Angler Waters, artist Cody Esp showed her beautiful work. We learned that she is also a muralist, and very kind too.  The crowd was very interested in what she was showing.Easy Street had a band that drove a big crowd and Jet City Labs was fun as always!

Reeve Washburn was showing at Windermere, and she is amazing as we all know!  Very beautiful work and a good crowd.  Therapeutic Associates PT were a really fun bunch! They had wine, cheese and a lot of art. The artist was not there but we learned a lot about their business!

Musician Paul Gerard entertained diners with music that included his song “The Light of America” at Whiskey West.

At Morgan Junction, David Miller’s woodcut tree prints adorned the walls at Inner Space Designs. Trees were an ongoing theme at Alki Arts as well, with Chuck Gumpert and Jay Lazerwitz’s combined show. Nor Designs celebrated The Coleman Collective with accessible and affordable art.

In Admiral, Wend is one of the best-hosted locations. It was welcoming and friendly as always. Artist Diane Bellisaro was eagerly sharing her artwork and Wend also had a candle and scent vendor at the front of the shop. Snip It’s art was a celebration of women of color.

West Seattle Realty was hopping with a group of students and their teacher showing off their impressive photography. Dan Jacobs had his photographs on display at West Seattle Grounds.

Alki is still getting into the Art Walk scene, but passersby enjoyed the art shows at Gary’s Place with Greg Barnes and West Seattle Arcade with John Gillespie Jr. Both shows were perfect for the arcade ambiance. Log House Museum featured Rachel Bender’s colorful collection alongside student work on display.
