Setting the tone for the July Art Walk, Alki Arts beckoned the crowds with outdoor music from Rick Fogel and his solo hammer dulcimer. Once inside, visitors were treated to a group show featuring the pottery of Loren Lukens and paintings and art by Lea Basile-Lazarus, Debbie Bianchi, Christopher Mathiem, and Mimi Miles. As always, Alki Arts was a hub for the Morgan Junction neighborhood.
The gorgeous space of our Art Walk partner, NOR, provided the perfect showcase for the works of Elena Naskova. Her oils and watercolors were a perfect complement to the delightful summer evening. Visitors to NOR were also treated to a lovely selection of snacks and drinks.
Erik & Adrian Perez Peterson were on hand at Viscon to celebrate their vibrant art. Under the banner of “Heart B.E.A.T PNW,” they create art, crafts, and street wear. As guests sampled and enjoyed Viscon wines, they were surrounded by the brilliant, multi-hued paintings adorning the walls. Cheers to Viscon for hosting this duo!
The Junction was buzzing with excitement and energy as pockets of people enjoyed the Art of Music and an amazing array of talented artists with crews setting up diligently for Summerfest. Carolyn J. Autenrieth at Therapeutic Associates shared her love of trees and what they teach her about life and connection. At Itto’s Vino, musician Maggie Laird serenaded customers on the deck and inside. At John L. Scott Real Estate, St. Bees Duo provided captivating music to accompany art by Tom Costantini.
Verity Credit Union featured Steve & Kristi Nebel alongside T. Frick Art’s creations. At CAPERS, visitors could experience Jazz renditions from pianist Karin Kajita and Bass player Al Shabino and art by Kelly Bailey and Maury Weiss. Golden Hart provided entertainment for patrons at The Great American.
At Pine Lake Cellars, Marco de Carvalho, a frequent performer at the C&P Coffee House, entertained those savoring wines.
In Admiral neighborhood, WEND Jewelry, entertainer Abby K and artist K. Lobdell presented their gorgeous talents for onlookers to enjoy. At West Seattle Grounds, music filled the air while M.C. Childs matchbook cover prints decorated the walls. Jon Couch displayed a colorful travelogue at The Wandering Couch’s show.

Our team of volunteer Art Walk photographers did a wonderful job of capturing the ambiance of the evening as well as the art and artists. Thank you Helen, John, Mia, Michelle, and Molly. We couldn’t do this without you! If you weren’t able to come out, we hope you take a moment to check out photos of the receptions below or on social media. Or, better yet, come see the shows yourself. Most of the artwork featured will be up all month long, so do find time to visit these venues.
