Trevor Ras: Seafaring Songwriter Rock
Ed Sheeren Meets Jimmy Buffett with a Saxophone
Catchy melodies, thoughtful lyrics and his soulful saxophone blend with a penchant for sailing, loop pedals, and campfire sing-a-longs to give Trevor Ras a unique style- one that lands him comfortably between Ed Sheeren, Jimmy Buffett, and Van Morrison. Whether solo or with the band, his live shows bring a special energy- an honest, interactive, light-hearted approach that connects audience and performer. When you attend a Trevor Ras show, it is like sitting down and having a conversation in your living room. In other words, an experience worth having. Recorded during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, his latest release, Life at Sea explores the miracle of parenthood, the bond of family, the agony of divorce, second love, and the process of rebuilding life in the aftermath. It offers a small band, acoustic foundation with a hearty groove, hummable hooks, and interesting arrangements. The result is a heartfelt recording that is one part roots, one part acoustic pop, and authentically Trevor Ras. Originally from Seattle, Trevor spent most of his formative musical years based in Portland, OR as a sideman and saxophone player, touring up and down the I-5 corridor with regional acts like Big Time Rosie, Life After Liftoff and Jesus Presley. During his time in Portland, he played for President Clinton, opened for and played with Steve Miller, Bo Diddley, Fishbone, Pink Martini, the Clumsy Lovers, Tony Furtado, The Iguanas, Rubberneck and many, many more. He spent several years in L.A., touring with national up and comer, Justin Hopkins and the Guilt while daylighting as a music publicist in Hollywood. Since settling in Seattle more than 15 years ago, he has played throughout the Seattle and Portland area with a number of bands, but enjoys nothing more than sitting on a beach, watching his kids play, while strumming his guitar.

Taryn Hadfield @ Darby Winery in the Alaska Junction
Click here for Taryn Hadfield’s poster. Click here to listen to music performed by Taryn Hadfield.
Singer/Songwriter Taryn Hadfield represents a sound that is equal parts folk, rock, and acoustic pop. Growing up in suburban Idaho, Hadfield found an escape in the music of Florence and The Machine, Death Cab for Cutie and Paramore. Drawing inspiration from modern Folk pop artists like Phoebe Bridgers, Julien Baker and Maggie Rogers, she began songwriting and playing the local bar scene of her hometown. In 2019 she joined Next Music Company to record her first album at Studio X in Seattle, Manic Pixie Dream Girl (released in 2022). During the pandemic, she was one of the first musicians to take her talents to the online streaming platform Twitch, and her weekly performances have cultivated a vast and loyal fan base of listeners from around the globe who’ve fallen in love with her highly dynamic, intensely emotional and disarmingly honest songs. Today, she lives and plays in Seattle and is planning release a set of new singles and her sophomore album, Queen of Swords, later this year. ‘

Suzanne Uschold
Born and raised near Buffalo, NY I have lived in West Seattle since 1987. The Pacific Northwest offers endless inspiration with its majestic mountains, towering evergreens, crashing waves, roaring rivers and beautiful wildlife. I love the challenge of turning a photo into a quilt using a variety of techniques including collage, applique, thread painting and free motion quilting. While some art quilters embellish their work with paint, I prefer to “paint” my quilts, using only fabric and thread, and the occasional addition of lace, cheesecloth or even cotton balls.

After Work
I’m a Seattle-based photographer with a background in humanitarian work, where I spent years documenting communities shaped by struggle, resilience, and quiet acts of hope. Those experiences taught me to move gently and see with intention—lessons that continue to guide how I photograph today. In my current series, After Work, I turn my lens toward the quiet reach of nature within the city. Shot entirely in West Seattle parks, these photographs explore light, shape, and atmosphere—candid scenes of people winding down, finding stillness, and breathing in at the end of the day. They’re familiar places. Maybe you’ll even recognize a few. I hope these photographs remind you of your own favorite corner of nature here in West Seattle.

Cody Esp INDOORS SHOW & RECEPTION 5pm-9pm
My name is Cody, and I am an artist primarily working in paint. I hold a degree in Fine Art and Feminism from Humboldt State University (2011). My artistic journey has evolved from early work and small commissions after graduation to a focus on watercolor painting, which allowed me to dedicate more time to my art.
In 2022, I expanded my practice to include mural painting. Since completing my first city-commissioned mural at the local skate park, I have undertaken five additional city murals and eight private commissions. My mural work frequently incorporates themes of hands, flowers, and the mountain landscape. I pride myself on my adaptability and my commitment to understanding and fulfilling the vision of my clients. I have experience painting on diverse surfaces, both indoors and outdoors, ranging from smooth walls to corrugated metal. Clients consistently describe me as easy to collaborate with, enthusiastic, and efficient, with many returning for subsequent projects within six months, which I believe speaks to the value and impact of my artwork.

Thoa Nguyen BUSINESS HOUR DISPLAY 2pm – 7pm.
Musings of Color
My paintings are about the pleasure of seeing, a celebration of light, atmosphere and mood. My emerging work conveys a sense of movement and energy. My painting has been an experimental journey rooted in intuition. Drawing inspiration form both urban and natural vistas, my process is highly spontaneous – When I connect deeply with a subject, I paint quickly, translating my thoughts and emotions directly onto the canvas. When I allow myself to play and as a result, I gain a spirit of deliberation with intention and expression. My hope is that my art is transmittable with my personal impression that transcribe my experience to share with the viewers.
Thoa Nguyen came to the United States in 1975 as an 11-year-old refugee from Vietnam during the fall of Saigon. She grew up in Denver Colorado, and moved to Seattle WA in the late 90’s. She earned my Bachelor of Arts degree at Metropolitan State University of Denver in 1989. Her Art degree served as a solid foundation, as it introduced a range of art mediums and styles, as well as the impact of visual communication. Thoa was a restauranteur for 30 years, in 2020 start to paint again due to the Covid pandemic as result in her early retirement in which she purely dedicates herself to art. Thoa concept of art is heavily influenced by Impressionism. Subjects are based on real-life scenes, objects, and people. Through her painting, she enjoys injecting energy and vibrancy into these everyday subjects.

Michelle Hurteau INDOOR SHOW & RECEPTION 5pm-8pm.
I love abstract work because it lets me paint out my emotions and thoughts, some known to me, others hidden. Painting is the one area where intuition leads and intellect supports, which is the opposite of how I conduct my life otherwise. I laugh that the act of painting is both a refreshing break from myself, and a welcoming back of disowned parts. I would love it if people experienced that too for themselves when they look at my work. In my paintings I hope viewers see what I see: that in dealing with traumas large and small, both personal and in the world around us, there exists simultaneously these gifts: beauty, connection, freedom, happiness, and more. My experience is that these opposites exist intertwined in life. My paintings reflect this complexity, and it is my wish that they inspire people to be lifted by life’s goodness made richer by difficult times.
