As I write this an atmospheric river is flowing through our skies. It is very wet. According to AccuWeather (and with a name like that you know they are accurate) it will be raining on November 13th, also. But will that stop a Northwesterner? I think not! Grab your water-proof hoodie (because who in the Northwest uses and owns an umbrella?) and join all the rest of the intrepid art lovers for the November art walk. The art walk keeps expanding and we now have venues in the Admiral district, the Alaska and Morgan Junctions as well as Alki. So much to choose from and see! Is it too early to start thinking about holiday gifting? I think not! So it may be rainy outside but it will be warm and inviting at all the businesses that support our artists. Plus they usually have something nice to drink and gnosh on! So, mark your calendars to join us Thursday November 13th! Also, make sure to enjoy a wide variety of “Art Walk Specials” at 20 cozy bars, restaurants and cafes (see map below) while viewing the evening art walk.
This post’s hero artwork is by Autumn Tranquilio. Autumn’s art is showing this month at West Seattle Grounds .
Please note: We will be updating the businesses and their artists as the week goes on. Please check back before Second Thursday evening!
Can’t Join on November 13th? Our photography team will be covering some of the receptions and will post photos and a recap in a post on our Facebook and Instagram accounts. Check out the social accounts of your favorite exhibiting business – they may post photos or video, too!
We also want to remind our Art Lovers that this event is powered by our participating artists, businesses, and restaurants. Thank you for all you do to celebrate our vibrant art scene in West Seattle!

She has shown her work throughout the country including in galleries located in Los Angeles, Portland, San Francisco, New York, Philadelphia, and Brooklyn. She attended the California College of the Arts and Crafts in San Francisco, graduating in 2005 with a BFA in Painting & Drawing.
Time is the unifying theme here. These large pieces take a very long time to create, some requiring years. There is comfort in having a long-term project. It is predictable and stable and ‘always’ there to return to. Commitment is made a square at a time. Everything can be changed (as we could see if it were possible to peel back the layers on these canvases). In a world where decisions are made in a moment and consequences are survived, I can be found, whenever I can, quietly and slowly building my portal and filling it with flowers and eyeballs and little squares of color.

We will be showing 3 other artists as well…Anna Sparks with A.Sparks Arts, Tiffany Shuck with Wicked Raven Vintage, Heidi Peerman with Sweet Daisy Designs, and DJ Phil Anthony with Seattle House Mafia will be spinning his sick vinyl tunes.

Eugene Lee INDOORS SHOW & RECEPTION 5pm-8pm
After Work
I’m a Seattle-based photographer with a background in humanitarian work, where I spent years documenting communities shaped by struggle, resilience, and quiet acts of hope. Those experiences taught me to move gently and see with intention—lessons that continue to guide how I photograph today. In my current series, After Work, I turn my lens toward the quiet reach of nature within the city. Shot entirely in West Seattle parks, these photographs explore light, shape, and atmosphere—candid scenes of people winding down, finding stillness, and breathing in at the end of the day. They’re familiar places. Maybe you’ll even recognize a few. I hope these photographs remind you of your own favorite corner of nature here in West Seattle.

Cody Esp INDOORS SHOW & RECEPTION 5pm-9pm
My name is Cody, and I am an artist primarily working in paint. I hold a degree in Fine Art and Feminism from Humboldt State University (2011). My artistic journey has evolved from early work and small commissions after graduation to a focus on watercolor painting, which allowed me to dedicate more time to my art.
In 2022, I expanded my practice to include mural painting. Since completing my first city-commissioned mural at the local skate park, I have undertaken five additional city murals and eight private commissions. My mural work frequently incorporates themes of hands, flowers, and the mountain landscape. I pride myself on my adaptability and my commitment to understanding and fulfilling the vision of my clients. I have experience painting on diverse surfaces, both indoors and outdoors, ranging from smooth walls to corrugated metal. Clients consistently describe me as easy to collaborate with, enthusiastic, and efficient, with many returning for subsequent projects within six months, which I believe speaks to the value and impact of my artwork.

Teri Capp INDOOR SHOW & RECEPTION 5pm-8pm.
Art. It is the fabric of my life. I see it in everything that I do. It arrives, to be thought about and observed in the food that I gather and the meals that I prepare every day; in the way the light hits all of the things in my kitchen during the passing of the day. I uncover it when I look at the layers of life in my garden; no matter what the season. My desire to be outside more has driven my painting practice outdoors. With my portable easel, plein air painting allows me to experience a place in its fullness. To paint outdoors is seeing and feeling in 3-D and gives me the best information for my studio paintings. Rather than an exact depiction of a place, I try to paint the atmosphere and light; an interpretation of my experience and feelings about that thing that made me stop and want to paint it in the first place. It’s about the light, not the object, whether it’s an eggplant or an expansive view, It is the sifting and sorting and reacting and recording; of what I feel, experience, see…and remember, that I paint.
