Grab your sweetheart (and/or bestie) and spend a fun filled evening wandering through this month’s art walk. The art walk keeps expanding and we now have showings in the Admiral district, the Alaska and Morgan Junctions as well as Alki. So it may be rainy or cold outside but it will be warm and inviting at all the businesses that support our artists. Plus they usually have something nice to drink and nosh on! So, mark your calendars to join us Thursday February 12th! Also, make sure to enjoy a wide variety of “Art Walk Specials” at 20 cozy bars, restaurants and cafes (see map below) while viewing the evening art walk.
This post’s hero artwork is by Myron Curry. Myron’s art is showing this month at ArtsWest .
Please note: We will be updating the businesses and their artists as the week goes on. Please check back before Second Thursday evening!
Can’t Join on February 12th? Our photography team will be covering some of the receptions and will post photos and a recap in a post on our Facebook and Instagram accounts. Check out the social accounts of your favorite exhibiting business – they may post photos or video, too!
We also want to remind our Art Lovers that this event is powered by our participating artists, businesses, and restaurants. Thank you for all you do to celebrate our vibrant art scene in West Seattle!

Wild and Whimsical
Artist Statement: I’m drawn to those places where reality bends: where colors glow a little too brightly, familiar shapes tilt or curve in unexpected ways, ordinary objects reveal a spark of personality. I like to embrace that subtle strangeness, giving the mundane and overlooked a chance to be seen anew. In my work, even the most predictable things are invited to become something more. What excites me most about art is its ability to stir emotion. That possibility fuels my desire to create pieces that feel uplifting, playful, and gently humorous.

Cody Esp INDOORS SHOW & RECEPTION 5pm-9pm
My name is Cody, and I am an artist primarily working in paint. I hold a degree in Fine Art and Feminism from Humboldt State University (2011). My artistic journey has evolved from early work and small commissions after graduation to a focus on watercolor painting, which allowed me to dedicate more time to my art.
In 2022, I expanded my practice to include mural painting. Since completing my first city-commissioned mural at the local skate park, I have undertaken five additional city murals and eight private commissions. My mural work frequently incorporates themes of hands, flowers, and the mountain landscape. I pride myself on my adaptability and my commitment to understanding and fulfilling the vision of my clients. I have experience painting on diverse surfaces, both indoors and outdoors, ranging from smooth walls to corrugated metal. Clients consistently describe me as easy to collaborate with, enthusiastic, and efficient, with many returning for subsequent projects within six months, which I believe speaks to the value and impact of my artwork.

Myron Curry INDOORS SHOW & RECEPTION 2pm -7pm
Soulful Impact
My contribution in an attempt to inject emotion into the world through my art. Art is an expression of emotions, interests, curiosities, fascinations, beauty and it’s affects. Art is my absolute therapy. I crystalize moments in life entangled with others like a tree’s roots enabling them to last forever with detail beyond memory. Things reverberate within me and surface through my art. Distinctive emotions arise at times without detail. Those I express abstractly allowing my energy to flow parallel to my creative soul. Creating art releases my spirit from the reality I’ve at times found myself physically or mentally captured within.
I want people to know my art is my creative articulation of what reaches my soul, attracts me, and peaks my curiosity as a human being. I am a person of many dimensions, who has had many challenges, failures, and personal success. My heart and soul knows no depth too deep and my mind and body knows no limit to optimistic ambitions. My contribution in an attempt to inject emotion through visual art into the world.

Dan Jacobs INDOOR SHOW & RECEPTION 5pm-8pm.
‘Life moves pretty fast. If you don’t stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.’ Ferris Bueller
A Japanese theologian once wrote that he believed God moves at 3 miles an hour, which is the average speed of a human walking. I believe that most of us miss out on a great deal of life because we are moving through our lives much faster than that. I have embraced walking as a way of effectively observing what may otherwise remain hidden from a casual glance. My images reflect the different nuances, unique perspectives, and hidden surprises that are only evident while walking the neighborhoods and landscapes we more often crash through on the way to our assumed destinations. You may not remember these specific images down the road, but I hope they will inspire you to consider practicing your own version of “life at 3 miles an hour” Dan Jacobs
