Come spend a fun filled evening wandering through this month’s art walk. The art walk keeps expanding and we now have showings in the Admiral district, the Alaska and Morgan Junctions as well as Alki. So it may be rainy or cold outside, or it may be lovely and springlike, anything goes in the Northwest this time of year, but it will be warm and inviting at all the businesses that support our artists. Plus they usually have something nice to drink and nosh on! So, mark your calendars to join us Thursday March 12th! Also, make sure to enjoy a wide variety of “Art Walk Specials” at 20 cozy bars, restaurants and cafes (see map below) while viewing the evening art walk.

This post’s hero artwork is by Carolyn Autenrieth. Carolyn’s art is showing this month at Upward Physical Therapy .

Please note: We will be updating the businesses and their artists as the week goes on. Please check back before Second Thursday evening!

Can’t Join on March 12th? Check out the social accounts of your favorite exhibiting business – as they may post photos or video!

We also want to remind our Art Lovers that this event is powered by our participating artists, businesses, and restaurants. Thank you for all you do to celebrate our vibrant art scene in West Seattle!

WEND Jewelry

3278 California Ave SW

Sara McMahon INDOOR SHOW & RECEPTION 5pm-8pm.

I start every piece with a single sheet of black paper, cutting away bit by bit with a sharp blade until the design emerges. I find deep satisfaction in this process as it allows me to look at the world around me with an eye for shadows and light. The trickiest cuts to do are the ones where the two overlap, forcing me to rethink where each begins and ends.

This collection is made up of pieces old and new, inspired by my garden, my journaling practice, my beliefs, my friends.  In essence, the world I live in every day.

Pop-up:

Burly Burr Mobile Knife Sharpening. Bring your kitchen knives for sharpening while you shop for new art and jewelry inside WEND.

This collection of Aurora Borealis photos, titled Celestial Spectacle, features images from May 10, 2024, when the Aurora made a rare appearance over Seattle. It also includes photos taken in Fairbanks, Alaska, where Greg and his wife Tiffany own two log cabins. They purchased the Moonlight Forest Property in 2022 to create a peaceful retreat away from city lights. The secluded location just outside of town offers stunning Aurora views—just steps from the warmth of their cabins. Guests are welcome to experience the magic of the northern lights for themselves. Booking details are available on Greg’s website (scan the QR code below).
The most recent additions to the collection were captured on March 25, 2025, in Lapland, Finland, where Greg now works as a trip leader for the Dressler Detours Northern Lights tour.

Cody Esp INDOORS SHOW & RECEPTION 5pm-9pm

My name is Cody, and I am an artist primarily working in paint. I hold a degree in Fine Art and Feminism from Humboldt State University (2011). My artistic journey has evolved from early work and small commissions after graduation to a focus on watercolor painting, which allowed me to dedicate more time to my art.

In 2022, I expanded my practice to include mural painting. Since completing my first city-commissioned mural at the local skate park, I have undertaken five additional city murals and eight private commissions. My mural work frequently incorporates themes of hands, flowers, and the mountain landscape. I pride myself on my adaptability and my commitment to understanding and fulfilling the vision of my clients. I have experience painting on diverse surfaces, both indoors and outdoors, ranging from smooth walls to corrugated metal. Clients consistently describe me as easy to collaborate with, enthusiastic, and efficient, with many returning for subsequent projects within six months, which I believe speaks to the value and impact of my artwork.

ARTSWEST (Art Walk Partner)

4711 CALIFORNIA AVE SW

Myron Curry INDOORS SHOW & RECEPTION 2pm -7pm Artist will not be in attendance.

Soulful Impact

My contribution in an attempt to inject emotion into the world through my art. Art is an expression of emotions, interests, curiosities, fascinations, beauty and it’s affects. Art is my absolute therapy. I crystalize moments in life entangled with others like a tree’s roots enabling them to last forever with detail beyond memory. Things reverberate within me and surface through my art. Distinctive emotions arise at times without detail. Those I express abstractly allowing my energy to flow parallel to my creative soul. Creating art releases my spirit from the reality I’ve at times found myself physically or mentally captured within.

I want people to know my art is my creative articulation of what reaches my soul, attracts me, and peaks my curiosity as a human being. I am a person of many dimensions, who has had many challenges, failures, and personal success. My heart and soul knows no depth too deep and my mind and body knows no limit to optimistic ambitions. My contribution in an attempt to inject emotion through visual art into the world.

Mae Aur ARTIST OPEN STUDIO 5pm-8pm

Moon Mode + Human Suit

Mae Aur’s hand cut wood sculptures blur the boundary between painting and object, softness and structure. Using plywood as both surface and skeleton, she cuts, shapes, and paints figures that feel tender yet unyielding. Her characters are often masked. They embrace, pull apart, or quietly confront unseen forces. Her work grapples with love, loss, alienation, connection, and the unknown.
Through exaggerated form, symbolic gesture, and vivid color, Aur transforms rigid wood into something soft, bodily, and animated. Intuition precedes language while playful palettes carry difficult truths.

Born in 1988 in the American South and raised in a Brazilian-Lebanese and British household, Aur has made art her entire life and began creating her signature hand cut wood works in 2010. Her multidisciplinary practice has included metal, clay, costume, and performance, though she now focuses primarily on painted wood sculptures that function as three dimensional paintings.

After years working in somatic healing and massage therapy, she transitioned to a full-time studio practice in January 2025. Her work has been exhibited widely, including solo exhibitions at Marrow Gallery in San Francisco (Moon Mode, 2025) and Glitch Gallery in Memphis (Sweet Creams, 2015), and group exhibitions at Martine Chaisson Gallery in New Orleans and Jay Etkin Gallery in Memphis, as well as the 2021 State of the Art exhibition at Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art, where her work is held in the permanent collection. In 2025 she presented a solo booth with Marrow Gallery at The Armory Show in New York. Aur relocated from Memphis to Seattle in 2021 and works from her studio in West Seattle.
