Art of Music @ November Art Walk

Hot Club Jazz and Early French Swing Music! The Art of Music is back at the West Seattle Art Walk in November, thanks to the passion and drive of project coordinator John Redenbaugh. These Second Thursday Art of Music events running from September through December are ours to enjoy thanks to John’s smART Ventures grant from the Seattle Office of Arts & Culture. We love our art with a side of music!

The next performance in the series will be mid-month on Thursday, November 14, during Art Walk and features the jazzy strings quartet of Byron Street Swing. Paul, Melanie, Janna and Kerry loved gathering for jams to play the songs of Django Reinhardt and other Gypsy Jazz masters of today. In 2018, they formed Byron Street Swing to bring these great Jazz Manouche classics to a new audience.

Performances have moved indoors starting this month – you can hear Paul, Melanie, Janna and Kerry at The Great American Diner at 4752 California Ave SW. Enjoy this lively music, the photographic art of Michael Hathaway on display, and Great American Diner’s $5 Art Walk drink special, $5 pulled pork sandwich, Open Mic and Trivia Night!

Byron Street Swing will perform two family-friendly 45-minute sets starting at 6pm and finishing at 7:40pm, with a 5-10 minute break between.

Learn more about the November 14 performance at our Facebook Event.
