Happy Holidays from Art of Music!

Perhaps, on the December 9 Art Walk, you were busy strolling all the junctions, checking out the art and the late shopping opportunities – but you wish you had caught the Art of Music performances? You’re in luck! Here’s a clip of sirenic alt-folk vocalist Veronica Malki and her acoustic program at Copper Coin in Admiral to enjoy! Our gratitude goes to West Seattleite Mark Jaroslaw, who was the video director for the Seattle Folklore Society, for offering us his talents in capturing this event.

We are grateful for the passion and drive of project originator and coordinator John Redenbaugh – thank you, John, for enriching the West Seattle Art Walk! This special event, presented by the West Seattle Junction Association, was created to complement Art Walk for the benefit of ALL Art Lovers.

Stay tuned for new Art of Music events coming in 2022!

Did you know John Redenbaugh is an accomplished lyricist? He has written his second annual holiday parody carol for you to enjoy. Thank you, John, for the smile and cheer!

This is How We Know It’s Christmas Time

Parody Lyrics — Can be Sung to the Tune of “Deck the Halls”

New Lyrics 2021 by John Redenbaugh

Christmas carols on the airwaves,

Classics you can sing to every day.

Yard displays with lights that draw raves,

Credits cards so handy when you pay.

Candy canes, hard candy, chocolate.

Calories—mounting up—with each treat.

Losing weight there’ll be no shortcut,

Frosted cookies, spritz — they can’t be beat.

Trim the tree and hang the stockings,

Gather at the holidays for cheer.

Christmas lights abound for gawking,

Time for Santa Claus to prep reindeer.

Malls to visit, online shopping,

Cards to mail, packages, wrapping time.

Preparations with no stopping,

This is how we know it’s Christmas time.

…This is how we know it’s Christmas time.

Art of Music is a presentation in conjunction with the West Seattle Junction Association.
