Art of Music @ October Art Walk

The upcoming October 13 West Seattle Art Walk will feature Art of Music with events both in Admiral and the Alaska Junction!

October 13 – New Age Flamenco @ Verity Credit Union will entertain with music that reflects Latin, Mediterranean folk with European roots, jazz, and a Gypsy soul….all blended with the infectious rhythms of today’s music. Formed in 1998 by bass player Oleg Ruvinov, the band has extensive touring experience having played at festivals, and for large audiences at venues such as Benaroya Hall. They regularly practice the songs of Armik, Gypsy Kings, Carlos Santana, Ottmar Liebert, and others. Click here for New Age Flamenco’s flyer.

October 13 – Hot Club Jazz quartet Byron Street Swing Band @ Antico Soprano’s Pizza & Pasta Restaurant. Reminiscent of the early French swing style, Django Reinhardt, and other Hot Club Jazz masters of today, the group officially formed in 2018 to bring Jazz Manouche classics to audiences in the Seattle area and beyond. Each musician will be performing family-friendly content for 90 minutes at their Art of Music event, from 6:00 pm to 7:45 pm, with one 15-minute break at the midway point.

Music can evoke passion, emotion, and joy. The Art of Music provides an opportunity for aspiring musicians to combine the appreciation of visual arts with the appreciation of musical expression. This special event, presented by the West Seattle Junction Association, was created to complement Art Walk for the benefit of ALL Art Lovers.

Partial funding by: Seattle Office of Arts & Culture for performances in the Alaska Junction.
